Two concert posters from the 1970s are set to go on sale at a Black Country auction house.

The poster

As part of the collector's sale at Cuttlestones Auctioneers, an early 70s poster for a performance in Bromsgrove by the Average White Band, and a posted of the annual Wolves Polytechnic Ball from 1974, will go under the hammer.

Designed in the psychedelic acid-rock stylings of the era, the posters are in a good condition.

A spokesperson for the auction house said: "These posters represent a rare opportunity for collectors, or even someone from the local area that attended the shows in question – they were consigned by a vendor from Durham so in effect the posters are ‘coming home’ to be sold.

"It’s a nice coincidence that the Average White Band are still going strong and currently on tour, though the cost of a ticket today is slightly more than the 25p it cost back then."

The lot is expected to fetch between £30-50, and will come under the hammer on Friday July 5.
