The American rock band from New York City first formed in 1984. The bands music is a creative fusion that is influenced by heavy metal, funk, jazz, hip hop, punk and alternative rock.

They rose to fame with their debut album Vivid in 1988, that was an instant success, hitting the No.6 spot in the Billboard 200 Chart and earning certifiable double platinum status after it comfortably became one of the most popular albums of the year. They then won Best New Artist at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards.

They are most remembered for their signature hit Cult of Personalty which won them a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rick Performance in 1990 and other hits like Open Letter (To a Landlord), Funny Vibe, Middle Man and Glamour Boys. They also won their second Grammy Award for their follow up album Time's Up.

The band are returning after 30 years since the release of Vivid and revisiting their infamous debut record end-to-end on stages across the country, plus a smattering of hits from their establishment-quaking career with Wayward Sons and Jared James Nichols.

Living Colour will come to The Mill, Birmingham, Digbeth on July 17th.
