Ozzy Osbourne postpones UK and European tour due to illness
The rock legend had been due to play Birmingham on February 9.
Ozzy Osbourne has postponed his upcoming UK and European tour due to illness.
The Birmingham rock legend was due to play the city's Resorts World Arena next Saturday alongside West Bromwich metal icons Judas Priest.
“I’m completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour,” the 70-year-old musician said in a statement.
“It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to s***.
"First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis.
"I want to apologise to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down.
"However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed.
"It’s being rescheduled right now to start in September.
"Again, I apologise to everyone. God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy.”
Ealier this week, Ozzy postponed the first four dates of his tour because of the flu.
However Ozzy has now been diagnosed with a severe upper-respiratory infection, which his doctor believes could develop into pneumonia given the physicality of the live performances and winter travel across Europe.
Tickets for the postponed dates will be honoured for rescheduled dates that are yet to be announced, or refunds are available at point of purchase.
