Elkie Brooks reschedules Birmingham gig due to laryngitis
Elkie Brooks has been forced to postpone her show in Birmingham this weekend due to health issues.
The Lilac Wine star was set to play a greatest hits show at Birmingham Town Hall on Saturday, but has been advised not to perform due to laryngitis.
Elkie, aged 73, is best known for hits such as Pearl's A Singer, Fool If You Think It's Over, and No More The Fool.
The Salford singer's management has released the following statement:
"Unfortunately, due to laryngitis, Elkie has been advised to rest her voice and is unable to perform at Town Hall this weekend. She sends her sincere apologies and looks forward to being back on stage on the revised date."
Her show will now take place at the same venue on May 10.
All tickets for Saturday’s show will be valid for the new date, says the Town Hall.
