Dave Haslam to talk Morrissey, Sonic Youth, John Peel and more in Birmingham show
Moseley-born music writer and Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam will reveal his new autobiography at a show in Birmingham.
His memoir, entitled Sonic Youth Slept On My Floor, features tales including Morrissey visiting his home, Sonic Youth sleeping on his floor, John Peel taking him to see Public Enemy and more.
It also features interviews from David Byrne, Kevin Rowland, Terry Hall, Neneh Cherry, and John Lydon.
Dave grew up in Moseley and became interested in music watching artists such as Iggy Pop and Blondie at Brummie nightclub Barbarella's.
He moved to Manchester to study and stayed, becoming a resident DJ at the legendary Hacienda club in 1986.
Since then he has played shows worldwide, and written five books.
An Evening with Dave Haslam comes to Birmingham Town Hall on June 6.
