News of the show follows a tour The Wonder Stuff and Ned's Atomic Dustbin are undertaking together this month and next - with their first concert taking place in Liverpool this evening.

The 12-date UK tour is the first time the acts have shared a stage for 28 years. They will play two gigs at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on April 14 and 15 as part of the tour. The first of these has already sold out.

Miles, Jonn Penney and Gareth 'Rat' Pring will then play Banstock 2018: Songwriters' Garden Party on Saturday, July 7. Miles will be the headline act, with the Ned's members supporting.

Talking ahead of the Bantock Park event, Ned's Atomic Dustbin frontman Jonn Penney said his and Rat's set will be acoustic after the pair recently 'caught the bug' for the playing style.

He also promised some 'big surprises' for fans at the summer show.

"It's all Miles' fault you know," laughed Jonn.

"If he hadn't talked Rat and I into sorting out a couple of acoustic songs for a Facebook Live broadcast last year, we would never have caught the acoustic bug.

"We're loving going through our back catalogue and 'acoustifying' our songs.

"There'll be some big surprises in the set too."

The event will be a family friendly garden party, say organisers.

Tickets for Banstock 2018: Songwriters' Garden Party cost £16.49 if bought before June 1. After this date, the price goes up to £18.71.
