The 74-year-old Grammy-award winning singer, actor and songwriter took to the stage before an audience of an unexpectedly wide-ranging age last night.

Celebrating 50 years in the music industry, Rogers showed off his outstanding vocal talents for his hour-and-a-half set, getting the crowds moving with an array of hits including Lucille, We've Got Tonight, Ruby and Coward of the County.

The Texas-born star held the attention of fans with his wry sense of humour, picking out a certain member of the audience by the name of 'Mick' who Rogers instantly selected as one of the men in the crowd who 'didn't want to be there'.

He also told the arena off for swaying throughout the show, accusing fans of 'looking like a room full of Ray Charles'. The star gave a powerful rendition one of his biggest hits The Gambler, while showing clips from the trio of 80s Western movies in which Rogers played the lead part.

He also dedicated hit song Through the Years to his family as he showed heart-warming pictures of his two nine-year-old twin sons Jordan and Justin with his wife Wanda, who he later revealed was sat in the audience.

Supporting Rogers was Irish star Tommy Fleming, with his forceful and dynamic tenor voice.
