If it's Monday, it must be Aberdeen. Wednesday means its Belfast and Saturday is London.

Life is one long roadtrip for Elliot Greave, AKA Example, who breezes into Birmingham on Thursday (28 February) on the latest leg of his Evolution of Man Tour.

He wrote his latest album on the road: "Yeah, I did it at the start of last year.

I think I was in Sydney, Melbourne, LA and London. It took me about five weeks.

"It was supposed to be a holiday because I worked so hard last year.

"But I said to my manager 'I miss the music writing' so I just went straight into the studio and churned out another album. I was fine tuning for months after that.

"I've been touring so much so I go away for a while come back with the engineer sat by me and then we'll be like 'let's add to some guitar to that' .

"It feels very consistent this album, it's all guitar lead and all tells a similar story.

"So, I hope this will be my grown up, epic album."

The album has been well received around the world. Unlike many of his peers, Example is pleased to be doing well in off-the-beaten track territories.

"Everyone's obsessed with America but I'm massive in Asia, South Africa, Eastern Europe and Australia."

He's enjoying being on the road for his biggest UK tour to date. "Yeah, we did an arena tour in April last year, so this is the second one.

"The first arena tour was like a milestone in your career, this time the pressure is on to put on a bigger better show – so I'm thinking about getting lasers involved. I've always loved lasers, not many people can say 'Yeah I've got lasers'."

Example enjoyed an enormously successful 2012 and fans in Birmingham can look forward to such hits as Say Nothing, taken from his third studio album The Evolution of Man.

They can also enjoy Watch The Sun Come Up and Kickstarts as well as smash hits like Stay Awake and Changed The Way You Kissed Me.

Example maintained his stranglehold on the world of Electronica in 2012 with 12 shows in Ibiza, before spending the summer months on the road playing a plethora of festivals across the UK and Europe.

To name but a few these included T in the Park, Wireless, Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, V and Benicassim – he received rave reviews at all.

"I think the thing that is on my mind most of the time is 'Where's my bed?' "I haven't seen my bed for ages, I've forgotten what it looks like. I just work all week round."
