Review: Katherine Jenkins, Symphony Hall
Katherine Jenkins brought her beautiful voice, fabulous frocks and loads of festive cheer to her sell-out Christmas show.
The Welsh mezzo soprano treated the audience to a host of hits from her latest album, as well as favourite carols and some of her most well-known tunes.
She opened the show with O Come Come Emmanuel, and sang the first verse off stage, enabling the audience to really appreciate the purity of her voice. This was before emerging onto the stage waving to the crowds in one of the first of several, full-length, glamorous ballgowns.
The beautiful blonde was smiley and chatty throughout her performance, and explained to the audience why she had chosen certain songs.
As in many of her shows the star held a short question and answer session with the audience and in addition to the marriage proposals and numerous dinner invitations there was a request for the Welsh National Anthem.
And without hesitation the 32-year-old launched into the anthem and stunned the audience with the sheer power of her voice.
