Birmingham LG Arena

The Peter Pan of Pop brought his Soulicious tour to Birmingham's LG Arena for two nights over the weekend and showed today's X Factor wannabes how to put on a show.

And, as ever, his army of loyal fans was out in force, some travelling from as far away as Wales, Glasgow and Northern Ireland to see him.

When A Man Loves A Woman singer Percy Sledge and Band of Gold songstress Freda Payne were among those to join him on stage, along with Birmingham-born Jaki Graham, dancers, backing singers and a live band including a saxophonist and flute player.

Sir Cliff opened the show with From A Distance as he sported a smart shiny silver suit and went on to romp through hits including Living Doll, Summer Holiday and Devil Woman.

The old favourites had many of the crowd up on their feet dancing, while the odd cheeky bum wiggle in their direction sent them into a frenzy.

Each famous face joined him on stage for a duet followed by a solo performance.

He may not be everyone's cup of tea but his fans still love him and he knows exactly how to work them.
