Mandy Rayner has been making window displays for children using pictures of superheroes and other favourite characters.

Mandy Rayner, a housewife aged 51, was inspired to create her own display after seeing children's drawings of rainbows in the windows of their homes for other youngsters to see.

She has drawn a number of popular children's characters such as Batman, Tinkerbell, Spiderman, Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer to name a few and displayed them in the windows of her home for people to spread some cheer in her neighbourhood.

Mandy said: "My inspiration of helping the children came when they were putting rainbows in their windows for other children to see, so I thought how nice it would be for them to see favourite characters.

"I absolutely love seeing everyone smile as they walk past, it’s a really tough time for everyone and this is helping me and other people.

"When the children come and look at all the pictures with their parents, seeing them smiling at their favourite characters is so warming.

"I didn’t realise how much my drawings would cheer people up."

Mandy's display has become increasingly popular and she's even getting requests of new pictures to add to her ever-growing window display.

She added: "Lots of requests have come through local children and also through Facebook.

"Some of the drawings have messages to the children or their names on, others are just the character, I also update pictures and videos regularly online so the children near and far can spot their picture.

"More pictures are being added daily, I can still see through my window, just!"
