Self-taught chef who started Caribbean street food business in mother's kitchen wins national award
A Black Country lady has been named female chef/restaurateur of the year at a national awards night.

Natalie Francis picked up the gong at the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards for 2023.
Natalie, 42, from West Bromwich, owns Doreen's Kitchen, a food business that sells Caribbean street food.
After first starting the business in her mother's kitchen, it has gone from strength to strength and now has a premises on 118 Beverley Road, West Bromwich.

Sharing her delight at the award, Natalie said: "We set up in this premises around a year ago, but before that I set up in my mom's kitchen during Covid, and it blew up so I ended up getting my own place with support from friends, family and the community.
