Wolverhampton's money-saving mum gets thousands of new followers overnight after catching the eye of social media celebrity
A money-saving Wolverhampton mum amassed more than five thousand new Instagram followers almost overnight after her thrifty tips caught the eye of a social media celebrity.
Money-smart mum Amy Grayland began sharing her tips and tricks on Instagram two years ago, over which time she had gained 1000 followers keen to save some pennies.
Since Monday, her Instagram page @_Moneysavingamy has almost 7000 followers after fellow thrifter and influencer Mrs Hinch shared Amy's videos with her 4.7 million fans.
Amy said her week has been "completely unreal" since getting a follow from the celebrity.
"She put something on her Instagram story saying she wanted to share other people's posts, and the ways they save money, so people were tagging her in their stories and she would share them to her page," she said.
"I wasn't going to bother her at first, but later I decided to go for it. I shared and tagged her in one of my freebie haul reels because that one got quite a lot of attention when I first posted it.
