The book became an instant sensation, shooting to number one in the UK Kindle Chart.
More than one million copies have been sold and it has been translated in 32 languages as well as being optioned for TV by the BBC.
Since her debut, Angela, who hails from the Black Country, has published 20 more books in the Kim Stone series, plus a prequel, and three women’s fiction novels, going on to sell over six million copies.
Readers have spent a decade getting to know no-nonsense Detective Kim Stone and her team.
For Angela, who received scores of rejection letters before finally securing a publishing deal with Bookouture, the years have disappeared in a flash.
“It definitely doesn’t feel like 10 years. The time has flown by.
“I’m now writing book 22 of the Kim Stone series – I would never have believed 10 years ago that I would be writing book 22 of anything and that readers would still be reading and enjoying the series as much as they did when Silent Scream came out.”

In 2014, Angela had almost given up hope after publishers repeatedly voiced concerns about her book’s Black Country setting and her tenacious lead character.
But her fortunes changed in an instant when she was contacted by Bookouture, who were excited about the storyline and characters.
