David and Marg Thompson wowed the judges on the ITV show earlier this year and got four 'yes' votes and a standing ovation from the crowd.

And despite the pair not making it through to the live shows they say they would still encourage anyone to audition.

David, 61, said: "We didn't expect to get four yesses, we'd just started dancing about three years ago and we knew a lot of these people were professional, whereas we did it for fun."

The married couple live in Willenhall and are well-known as market traders across the Black Country.

The pair now dance at the Blind Institute in Sedgley every Wednesday, took part in Wombourne's carnival and entertain pensioners in care homes.

David added: "We still get people recognising us in the street.

"We did a competition in Wales a couple of weeks ago and Margaret walked into the ladies and a young girl said 'I recognise you'.

"We've also been noticed at Morrisons, all over the place.

"They just come up and ask for a selfie and we're happy to do it."

David and Marg, 59, started dancing after they were bought five lessons for Christmas.

"I said no I'm not doing it," added David. "It took me about 12 months to change my mind.

"We did the five lessons and I said I'm not doing it again, then about a year later Margaret wanted to start again so we started.

"We've done competitions and that's what we enjoy.

"We danced at Wombourne Carnival and also have been into old people's homes and they love it.

"We couldn't change a thing about going on the show.

"We want to promote the dance world around England, anybody can do it young or old."
