Residents can have the time of their lives watching Dirty Dancing and Oscar smash-hit Bohemian Rhapsody at Dudley Zoo in May.

The attraction has teamed up with QUAD to transform the castle courtyard into an open-air cinema for two nights.

The biographical celebration of Queen and their lead singer Freddie Mercury will be screened on Friday, May 17, while on Saturday, May 18, there will be a showing of the classic Dirty Dancing.

Matt Lewis, zoo manager, said: "Our previous open-air cinema nights have proved really popular so we are delighted to be able to put on extra events this year.

“We are sure these two titles will prove to be huge hits, but we have limited ticket availability, so we advise early booking to avoid disappointment."

Adult tickets cost £15.50 or £10.50 for concessions. To book, visit www.dudleyzoo.org.uk or call 01384 215313.

Cinema goers are advised the films, which both carry a 12A certificate, will go ahead whatever the weather, according to bosses.

Dudley Zoo will also soon be announcing details of a couple of cult horror classics which will be screened at the attraction in the summer months.
