But this summer comedy fans will get the chance to see Paul Sinha in an entirely different light.

Headline act Sinha will appear alongside regular TV comic Seann Walsh, as well as 11 other professional acts, as part of Fitz Fest in Stourbridge.

The comedy festival, which is taking place for the first time, will be held at Katie Fitzgerald’s pub in Wollaston, from June 7 to 10. Award-winning comic Sinha will headline the festival’s opening night on Thursday, June 7.

Meanwhile, observational comic Walsh, who has appeared on the likes of Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, will top the bill on the closing night on Sunday, June 10.

The two other headline slots will be filled by Barbara Nice, the housewife character creation of Phoenix Nights star Janice Connolly, and popular Black Country comic Jonny Cole. They will headline Friday and Saturday night respectively.

The four-day extravaganza is being put on by organisers of the pub’s monthly award-winning Fitz of Laughter Comedy Club. Tickets are now on sale.

Dudley comic Wayne Beese, who is resident compere at the club, said: “We’re really excited about this weekend.

“I’ve gigged recently with both Paul Sinha and Seann Walsh and both were world class, they really are comics at the top of their game. They normally play on the big stages so this is a rare chance to see them in a really intimate 100-seater venue on your doorstep. Barbara and Jonny are two of the most popular acts we’ve had here since we started.

“When we put them on they always sell out and quickly, and that’s because they are superb comics as well who know how to put on a show. On top of those four, we’ve got a really good mix of comics supporting them, from seasoned circuit professionals to hotly-tipped up and comers.

“They will be four amazing nights, and if we can fill the marquee and get it rocking for the whole weekend then who knows, it could become an annual thing.”

The comedy club has been running for nearly four years and put on a host of star stand-up names including Joe Lycett, Tom Stade, Hal Cruttenden and Gary Delaney.

Tickets for Fitz Fest cost £15 per show plus booking fees, with offers available for those buying weekend tickets. Details are available from Further information, including how to purchase tickets, is available online through ticketing outlet Skiddle.
