Halesowen Cricket is holding its first beer festival

The Halesowen Cricket Club Beer Festival will be held at the club between July 14 and July 16.

More than 20 real ales and 10 ciders will be available from independent and local breweries.

The Friday night will also feature a Gin bar with a variety of gins and Saturday having a special prosecco bar.

In addition to all of the drinks there will be live music being played throughout from local bands Squeaky Pete’s Liquor and Poker Band on Friday and The Glassroom on Saturday.

There will also be live cricket to take in as the 1st XI play a Birmingham League game on the Saturday and face Bromsgrove on the Sunday in a T20 league fixture.

Local businesses are encouraged to get involved, with various sponsorship options available, including sponsoring a barrel of beer or sponsoring the entire Gin or Prosecco bar.

Throughout the festival there will also be a wide range of food for festival-goers to choose from.

There will be a full menu from the cricket clubs kitchen, including a 10oz sirloin steak, burgers and wood fired pizzas, made to order, from Bare Bones Pizza.

On top of this there will also be a BBQ and a hog roast.

Organiser Nigel Jordan said: “‘We’ve sourced well over 20 real ales from local and regional producers.

"It’s amazing how much quality beer is out there and the selection process has been tough. We’ll also have some interesting new ciders and, if it’s bottled beers you prefer, we’ll have some novel brands to try out as well as our usual favourites”.

The Beer Festival is a ticketed event, with all tickets including £5 of drink vouchers, and a specially designed souvenir Halesowen CC Beer Festival Glass. There are a limited number of tickets available for each day of the festival.
