A day of glorious sunshine provided the perfect backdrop at Dudley's Himley Hall as owners of the national treasure came to town to show off their pride and joy.

The event was the 25th annual celebration of its kind and attracted thousands of spectators, who got to mingle with Mini clubs from around the country and marvel at their motors.

Dozens of stands were available to see, while owners could also get advice from specialists at the gathering.

Nicki Hadland, 38, from Shipston on Stour, had his own stand at the event as part of the Generation Mini group, where he got to showcase his customised Mini Cooper.

Nicki returned after his first visit last year, where his car was spotted by a specialist magazine and given national exposure from there.

He said: "It is a great event and I am glad to have come back this year.

"It is lots of fun to be around so many people who just love Mini's and you get to see things you would never see anywhere else.

"I think there were probably around 3,000 people here at one point, which just shows what a success the day was, plus we had glorious sunshine.

"People love Mini's because you can do anything with them, they can become an extension of your personality if you really want them to be.

"The parts are everywhere and people of all ages love seeing a Mini."

The British Mini Club was established in 1992 and now has thousands of members, offering membership to mini owners and enthusiasts all over the world.
