The popular restaurant is looking forward to welcome back customers after months of closure

The team at Hickory's Smokehouse in Wall Heath fired the smoker back up today and is opening every day from 11am.

Customers are able to enjoy smokehouse classics such as Texas-style brisket, ribs and wings, along with burnt ends, southern fried chicken and the Chicken Fried Waffle.

Hand sanitiser stations will be all around the restaurant

The restaurant says it has worked to comply with government regulations, including a new floor plan, disposable menus and a sanitiser station.

This includes the Barn space, a popular party venue and the only part of the restaurant that survived the fire in August 2016 which razed the rest of the restaurant to the ground.

The Barn has been redesigned as an extension of the restaurant, with new windows, additional seating and socially distanced covers to provide extra seating.

The restaurant has invested in disposable menus as part of its safety measures

General manager Steve Bonnington said the team had worked hard to get the restaurant ready and were looking forward to seeing customers come through the door again.

He said: "We wanted to bring The Barn back into the heart of the dining action,

"We’ve used the space in a variety of ways over the years and felt it was an obvious area for development as we look at ways of increasing our socially distanced dining capacity.

A wide selection of BBQ foods are available again

"The team have been re-designing the space throughout the extended break and we can’t wait to unveil the new look Barn to all our regulars and guests.

"It’s a glorious space and there is plenty of room for families to chill and friends to meet for some socially distanced dining."
