Customers enjoy a cuppa at city parks
Visitors to parks have been able to enjoy a cuppa while taking in the sunshine as cafes reopened to customers.
Wolverhampton residents are now able to enjoy a tasty treat while visiting two of the city's parks after they reopened on Saturday, June 20.
The Courtyard Café located at Bantock House Museum and West Park Tea Rooms are now offering takeaway service of hot and cold drinks along with food from a reduced menu.
A number of families embraced the sunshine and easing of lockdown over the weekend at both city centre parks and flocked to the cafes for a sweet treat.
To ensure the safety of customers and staff, social distancing measures are in place, including a one-way system, managed capacity, controlled queuing, contactless payments ans marshals to assist customers and answer visitor enquiries.
Councillor Jacqueline Sweetman, Wolverhampton Council cabinet member for city assets and housing, said: “In recent weeks there has been an increase in the number of people using Wolverhampton’s green spaces. We therefore feel it is an appropriate time to offer a takeaway service only from Bantock Courtyard Café and West Park Tea Rooms.
“There are a number of social distancing measures in place that visitors must adhere to for their own safety and that of the onsite staff.
“Bins are provided around the parks and visitors are asked to use them. If the bins are full then visitors are advised to take please take their rubbish home.”
