Drag queens take over Birmingham Bullring for Red Nose Day event
Drag queens took over Birmingham Bullring to mark the upcoming Red Nose Day Danceathon.
Led by Ginny Lemon, along with some of Birmingham Pride’s finest drag acts, the queens came together for a good cause.
Lip-syncing, death drops and ‘vogueing’ were just some of the many iconic dance moves being busted all over the Bullring on Friday.
Passers-by, young and old, enjoyed their lunch break with a difference as they danced with the queens, raising vital money for Comic Relief.
Host Ginny Lemon said “We’re a group of drag queens from Birmingham who just love to dance and wanted to get involved! We’ve had a whale of time and it’s all in aid of an amazing charity, Comic Relief.”
Dan Brown from Birmingham Pride said: “Supporting Comic Relief is something everybody should do once in your life. You don't know how much a small bit of money or awareness can have on somebody else’s life! We’re honoured to have been a part of it and had a lot of fun.”
The surprise event was all in support of the upcoming Danceathon taking place from March 11 to 12. Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly will embark upon the longest ever celebrity Danceathon in Red Nose Day history, all in support of Comic Relief.
