There will be double delight for folk fans this month when they get to see both Findlay Napier and Megan Henwood on the same Birmingham stage.

It all started at Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh, in 2016 when Henwood and Napier were a few hours into an English Folk and Dance Song Society-run songwriting retreat. They were outside drinking their seventh coffee of the morning.

Napier had driven nine hours from Glasgow and was a "bit wobbly", while Henwood was just back from a month-long writing trip to Nashville and is "jet lagged and delusional".

“Fancy writing a song about maths?” Napier asked. And the rest is history.

The fruits of their labours is the forthcoming EP The Story Song Scientist, released on Dharma Records on March 15, which they will promote with a gig at the Second City's Kitchen Garden Café, on York Road, on March 18.

Tickets to the show are available here.
