The funnyman appears at the Second City's Old Rep Theatre on November 4.

Highly acclaimed and described as 'uplifting', stand-up comedian and broadcaster Stephen is back with his brand new tour Bouquets and Brickbats - in fact, the Old Rep date is only the second show on an extensive list that runs into 2019.

He says his main aim is to cheer us up, for a moment, and try to help us forget what a mess the world finds itself in right now.

A spokesperson said: "Bouquets and Brickbats. Praise and criticism. Love and hate. Why such extremes? Everyone these days seems to be an expert, a critic, a judge. Or a victim. Are we a nation of snowflakes with an unwarranted sense of entitlement, unable to process opposing opinions?

"Do people really understand what they feel so strongly about, and does knowledge promote more neutral feelings? Why is everybody either mortally offended or so much a fan that they fail to see the faults?"

Stephen has been seen on an array of TV shows including Pointless Celebrities, QI, The People’s History of LGBT, Celebrity Storage Hunters, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Live At The Apollo and Have I Got News For You. He has also been in the fourth series of What Does The K Stand For? on BBC Radio 4.
