Fans left furious as Taylor Swift album allegedly leaked in store
Angry fans of pop star Taylor Swift have issued threats against a Midlands store after claims it played her new album prematurely.
Followers of the American singer-songwriter have lashed out on social media following reports her as-yet-unreleased new album was played in full in HMV in Birmingham's Bullring.
The store is reported to have played the singer's sixth studio album Reputation days before its official release – sending fans into a fury online.
A Twitter user said: "Help! Just called Birmingham HMV and they have confirmed that they have played the album today.
"She asked me why I was calling.
"I said that it isn't supposed to be played until it is released and was querying why they weren't following orders from @Taylorswift and her team."
The comment has since been liked more than 1,000 times on Twitter and shared more than 500.
One user wrote: "This is why no one likes Birmingham."
Another claimed the store had made a 'big mistake' and would face a backlash from Swift's fans, who are known as 'Swifties'.
The comment read: "You made a BIG mistake. SWIFTIES WILL END YOU. That goes for anyone else who tried to ruin @taylorswift13 hard work."
The album is scheduled for release on Friday (nov10) through Big Machine Records.
HMV refused to comment on the incident.
