Stafford's Canalside Farm launches new Christmas event
A farm will be launching a new Christmas event this weekend to help lift the gloom of the pandemic.
Canalside Farm, near Stafford, will host the Magical Winter Forest event from Friday.
Visitors will be able to wander through a maze of Christmas trees, with various activities for children to complete along the way.
Anna Barton, co-owner, said: “We have never done an event like this before, but as it’s been such a difficult year for everyone, we thought it would be great to do something magical and uplifting on the farm this Christmas.
"The event will be located in our huge Glasshouse, so there will be plenty of space, and staff will be on hand to manage the flow of visitors and ensure everyone’s safety.”
Activities for children include helping Santa find his lost reindeer and writing their own letter to Father Christmas – which includes a letter back from the man himself.
Farmer Chris-mas will also have his tractor-sleigh on hand for children to sit in and have their photo taken. And if youngsters want to take part of the Magical Winter Forest home with them – for the first time this year, Canalside Farm will be selling freshly cut premium Nordmann Fir Christmas trees.
The Magical Winter Forest will be open between Friday, December 4, and Monday, December 7. Entry to the forest is free of charge, but there will be a small charge for some of the activities.
Canalside Farm, Shop and Cafe is open every day between 9am and 4pm.
