The International Antique Home & Vintage Market brought people from across Staffordshire and the surrounding area to Bingley Hall at the Staffordshire County Showground to view a range of antique and vintage items.

The event was able to go ahead with full Covid-19 restrictions in place, including everyone present having to wear a face mask, hand sanitiser stations across the venue and a one-way system throughout the venue.

Nick Bayliss, event organiser for Continuity Fairs, said all necessary steps had been taken to make sure the event was safe and said it was a welcome relief for sellers to be able to pitch their wares.

A wide range of stalls and sellers were available for bargain hunters

He said: "We've done all the things you were meant to do to ensure safety today, such as payments being made out of the building to avoid any queueing.

"For the sellers, it was nice to get back to some form of normality as it has been a very barren year for them as they've had no shows to go to.

"As we are classed as an indoor market rather than an antiques fair, it means we can operate along the Covid guidelines."

The event saw a lot of antique furniture and retro items on sale, with Nick saying people love to buy antiques and love to get a bargain.

He said: "Antiques are so cheap these days and furniture, in particular, is cheaper than IKEA is.

"You can buy a set of drawers here for £50 which are 200 years old and will last another 200 years, which to me is better than an IKEA drawer which might last 10 years.

The fair was set out in a Covid-safe setting, with a one-way system in place

"It's like the ultimate recycling as the item will end up being recycled to whoever the next person is."
