Tree people are waiting to be discovered in Kidderminster trail

Bodenham Arboretum in Wolverley has set up a special trail around its 173 acres of mature woodland, specimen trees and shrubs and two chains of pools and lakes.

Visitors to the site will have the opportunity to search for the Tree People, a collection of trees decorated with specially designed faces with a host of expressions and looks.

This is the second year of the trail and Sam Binnian, one of the owners of the arboretum, explained what people could expect to see.

He said: "The trees will have different facial expressions, different characters, moustaches and accents and the children on site will have to find them all.

"With Covid-19, it's been a bit different in terms of how we put it together, but the whole trail is self-explanatory for people to understand how it works."

Sam said the trail was one of a number of events the arboretum put on for the public, with other events including an easter trail, a pumpkin trail and a Christmas trail.

He also said that the attraction of the Tree People trail was that families could enjoy some fresh air and have some fun doing the search.

He said: "I think, especially at this time, people want to be outside and feel safer outside, so we're encouraging people to come and enjoy our setting.

"They can come and enjoy the trees and woodland and looking for the Tree People as part of their admission to the whole site.

"A lot of work has gone into putting up the trail and we try to change it from time to time to ensure people come and do the trail again.

"I would say come down and enjoy a fun day out in a socially-distanced setting and get some fresh air in our unique setting."

The trail is included as part of the arboretum admission fee of adults £6.50 and children £3.50, with under 5s getting free admissions.
