The 40th event had been due to take place on Sunday, May 3, but was postponed due to the coronavrius crisis.

The mass participation walking event that takes in the whole of a borough was to have seen a choice of six, nine, 12, 20 and 28-mile routes this year, all starting and finishing at Dudley Leisure Centre in Wellington Road.

Dudley Trail 2020, held in association with The Lee, Shaw Partnership, will now be held on Sunday, September 13.

There will be just two walks due to restrictions on events brought about by the pandemic.

The routes include canals, a nature reserve, country footpaths and some roads. The six mile route is a gentle walk and the longer Ruby route - to mark the 40th anniverdary - of around 13 miles is for more seasoned walkers.

Anyone can take part, including children but under-14s need to be accompanied by an adult and dogs must be on leads.

All walkers must pre-book online as no bookings will be taken on the day and it costs £2.50 for the shorter route and £3 for the longer.

The start time for both walks is between 9am and 11am and to encourage social distancing, once people have registered their arrival they can start the walk.
