Bantock House Museum prepares to reopen doors
An historic city house and museum is set to reopen its doors to the public.
Bantock House Museum will reopen its doors to visitors for the first time in nearly five months following closure due to lockdown measures.
The Edwardian House, which is set in 43 acres of outdoor green spaces, will open on Saturday, August 15 and will be operating a revised opening schedule, opening on Saturdays and Sundays.
There will also be a booking system where visitors will be asked to book a time slot for a self-guided 20-minute tour of the home and social distancing measures and health checks in place.
Councillor Stephen Simkins, council cabinet member for city economy, said he was delighted that the house and museum were about to reopen to the public.
He said: "The house and grounds are an asset to the city and set in a spectacular location on Finchfield Road, where the Bantock family history and city manufacturing history can be explored.
"I do hope residents will take this opportunity to indulge in art again, explore the collection and historical items we have on show and even take a stroll around the park."
