New Gruffalo Spotters trail pushed back
The launch of a new Gruffalo Spotters trail at Wyre Forest has been postponed, following Government advice.
Forestry England had been due to launch the trail in the coming weeks.
A spokesman for Forestry England said: "You may have been excited to see us promoting our new Gruffalo Spotters trail which was due to launch soon at Wyre Forest . We hope you understand why, following Government advice, we have postponed the Gruffalo Spotters Trails. We will let you know when they are available.
"The most important thing for Forestry England is to keep the public, our staff, and volunteers safe so we have decided to reduce the activities we run for the short-term and keep the forests open for general activities including walking, cycling and running.
"Our forests are still open as having looked closely at the latest guidance, we believe people can still benefit from improved health and wellbeing from being among the trees, whilst taking sensible, personal precautions to keep themselves safe in the forests, including hygiene and social distancing.
"Key facilities, such as toilets, will still be open and staff are prioritising key duties while maintaining social distancing.
"We will keep monitoring the situation closely and follow the latest advice from Public Health England. We will inform our staff, volunteers and partners and customers quickly of any changes to our plans."
