Charity ball for International Women's Day
Two women from Sedgley are holding a charity ball in aid of International Women's Day.
Leanne Edge, 35 and Sun Kaur, 33 are hosting a charity ball this Sunday with all proceeds going to Black Country Women's aid.
The tickets which are priced at £30 include a welcome drink, a two course meal and a goodie bag.
The event will involve talks from a best selling author and a woman who herself has been sexually exploited.
Leanne, owner of Edge Make up Studio in Sedgley, has already organised a lot of fundraising events for Black Country Women's Aid:
"This time last year i organised a massive pamper day in one of the refugees offering cut and blow dry's and nail services, but this is the biggest event i have done to date."
"I initially set up my business to provide a better life for my children but now use it as a platform to help and empower other local women.
The night will also see performances from Stacy Green, a Pink tribute act, and Bethany Dyson, a female vocalist.
There will also be a series of raffle prizes which will include a spa day for two at the Belfry Hotel, show tickets for the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton and various treatments at local hairdressers and beauty salons.
Local businesses such as S B services, Balustrade UK and Brays Fitness have sponsored the event, allowing 100% of the profits to go to the charity.
Black Country Women's Aid has four refuges over the West Midlands supporting over fifty ladies.
"The charity has lost a lot of funding, specifically in children's services and counselling, so i have decided that 100% of the profits will go towards funding their counselling programme.
"My main aim is to empower younger women and help ladies charities."
The event is at WS10 Banqueting Suite, Wednesbury, doors open at 6:30pm.
