Stafford soldier launches first photo exhibition
A former soldier has launched a new career path with his first photo exhibition.
Matthew Lock, from Stafford, was in the Mercian Regiment and spent nine months in Afghanistan.
Now the 27-year-old has been travelling the world for the last year and taking pictures along the way.
His mother, Penny Lock, said: "This is his very first exhibition, he is looking to make photography his job.
"He's now had some interest from a travel magazine, it's just something he loves doing.
"He did photography at college but when he went into the army other things took over and he did nine months in Afghanistan.
"He came back and went to Mexico to train as a scuba diver trainer, but has now started travel photography.
"He's now been to over 20 countries, and been travelling for a year.
"He's got 13 pictures in the exhibition. He does all sorts of photos but he loves people's faces, he's got lots of faces with real expressions from all sorts of cultures.
"His landscapes are fantastic too, he's got an eye for a good picture.
"I'm very proud of him."
The exhibition will be in place at the Museum of Cannock Chase until March.
