Lambs born at Dudley Zoo in time for Easter
Three new baby lambs are born in the Barbary Sheep Enclosure as Easter hovers its head around the corner.
In true springtime fashion, ungulate keepers at Dudley Zoo have three new mouths to feed as they welcome new lambs to the herd. One who was born on March 17, while another two followed on March 24.
Keeper Ellis Robinson, pictured with one of the three newborn boys, said: “We named one Patrick as he was born on St Patrick’s Day, one is Harley after a little visitor who spotted him shortly after he was born and it was their birthday too, while the third has been called Barley."
While checking the sex of Harley, Barley and Patrick, keepers also took the opportunity to tag their ears with their unique identification code, before officially registering them on the zoo’s database while the keepers are said to have been reminded that Easter is just around the corner after the birth of the baby lambs.
