Millennium Garden, on London Road, boasts thousands of spring bulbs, golden daffodils and a water feature.

The two-acre garden also features lush planting, mature trees and a woodland garden area.

Carol Cooper, 72, from Lichfield, has worked on the garden for 44 years and has opened it to the public every April and June for the last 11 years.

"I saw other show gardens in the past and thought they looked very nice; I've always been interested in them," Mrs Cooper said.

Adults will be charged £3.50 to visit the garden and children can visit for free. The money raised from this will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

This garden is one of 3,500 to be opened up to the public as part of the National Garden Scheme, which has raised over £3 million for charitable causes so far this year.

Mrs Cooper said: "I do feel pride when I look around the garden, it's magnificent, but my main motivation is charity. I do it to raise money for Macmillan."

There is plenty of room for parking on a field which is also part of the property.
