Wolverhampton panto stars Richard Cadell and Sooty open Dudley Zoo grotto - with pictures and video

Christmas is officially coming to the Black Country thanks to the launch of Dudley Zoo's annual festive grotto.

Wolverhampton panto stars mingled with staff at the zoo and castle to celebrate the seasonal attraction opening last week.

A star appearance was made by Richard Cadell and Sooty, to help Father Christmas open the grotto and greet excited guests.

Debbie McGee, Richard Cadell, Sooty and more have all made their way to Wolverhampton as rehearsals begin for the Grand Theatre’s upcoming pantomime Sleeping Beauty.

TV, radio and stage performer Debbie stars as the Lovely Fairy Crystal, with Richard as Muddles the Jester.

They are joined by Doreen Tipton as the Nurse, Ian Adams as Queen Wilhelmina, Julie Paton as Carabosse, Oliver Ormson as Prince Harry and Bethan-Wyn Davies as Princess Beauty.

Sleeping Beauty runs at the theatre from December 8 to January 13.
