Model fun for steam enthusiasts in Wolverhampton
It was full steam ahead as a miniature steam train chugged around a pathway by the old Tettenhall Railway Station.
Members of the Wolverhampton District Model Engineering Society descended on the Tettenhall Transport Heritage Centre for steam day.
Steam trains headed through Tettenhall Station, which has since been converted into a cafe since its closure, near to the museum which used to be a Great Western Railway shed.
Roger Dackombe, vice-chairman of the society, said: "We do these events fairly regularly over the last few years, mainly in the autumn and around Christmas.
"We lay about 150 feet of track down. It's seven and a quarter inch gauge and what we had there was two small steam locomotives. They are both the same but different colours and they are small tank engines.
"The steam engines belong to two of our members.
"They have a coach between them and they shuffle up and down with children and adults for a little ride and it's an attempt to bring steam back to the old railway line."
Mr Dackombe said a 'mixture' of people came to the event.
He added: "People are aware of the event through its publicity and others came by just using the footpath.
"It was dependant on the weather. It was slow first thing but it picked up for lunchtime.
"The event was held for fun, really, and to promote the club and increase the awareness of it."
