Brierley Hill Market to hold vintage 1940s day this weekend full of fun and dancing

Stall holders and customers are getting ready for an exciting and fun-filled day of vintage favourites as Brierley Hill Market Hall prepares to host a spectacular 1940s day.

There will be entertainment all day long from the likes of George Formby tribute Kyle Evans, vintage song singer Vicky Elise, banjo player Angie Parker and tap dancer Katie Lewis. 

If that wasn't enough of a blast to the past, there will also be military vehicles on show as well as a forties costume competition. 

Visitors can take part in another game happening on the day - find ten aeroplanes that are dotted around the market and win a prize. 

The 1940s day will be taking place on Saturday, March 8 and all are invited and encouraged to dress up if they please.

Stall holder Roger Adams, who has worked at Brierley Hill Market Hall for over 32 years, will be doing a spot of tapdancing on the day. 

He invited one and all to the free event which will get going at 11am and finish at around 3pm. 

"Come along and have a good day out," he said. "It's all free and has been paid for by our traders. Come along and enjoy yourself."

Fellow stall holder Carol Davies added: "Do come along and say hi, and have a dance!"

The market is located at High Street in Brierley Hill and has 50 local stall holders selling a huge variety of food, clothes and services at cheap prices.
