The theatre's first staging of the fairytale classic Beauty and the Beast in the style of pantomime attracted over 57,000 attendees during its five-week run - surpassing the record-breaking sales of 2023’s Snow White.
Celebrating 130 years of pantomime tradition since the theatre’s opening in 1894, Beauty and the Beast honoured its festive legacy while embracing a modern audience, cementing the Grand’s reputation as a leader in regional theatre.
The show, which featured Gladiators’ Giant alongside returning writers and stage-show favourites Tam Ryan and Ian Adams, racked up more than 20 five-star reviews - making it the Grand's most critically acclaimed pantomime.
Express & Star critic Alison Norton said: "As always, the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre has delivered a pantomime full of family festive fun which is just the right mix of traditional and new and is the perfect day or night out this Christmas time."
Critics at Black Country Radio said: “Snow White was one of the best pantomimes in the country and it looks like the cast and creative team have done it again (with Beauty and the Beast).
"However, what feels special is that we're here at the start of the journey and I'm sure that, in years to come, this show will become the regional pantomime that all others look to for inspiration."
This season also expanded accessibility programs, tripling its Relaxed Performances to accommodate individuals with additional needs, welcoming 2,074 attendees.
Audio Description services benefited 268 visually impaired patrons.
But there is no need to despair now panto season has come to an end as Wolverhampton Grand Theatre have already confirmed their next production - Sleeping Beauty, which will run from Saturday 29 November 2025 – Sunday 4 January 2026.
