It may only be November but the city is already getting in the festive sprit, with a string of events due to take place this month.
The festivities will officially start at a Christmas lights switch on held in Queen Square and Victoria Street in the city centre on Saturday (November 16).
Below is everything you need to know about the event - from star-studded performances to meeting reindeer.
What time does it start?
The event starts at 3pm and will run until 7pm.
What can attendees expect at the event?
From 3pm, a funfair and face painting will be among the fun on offer.
People can also have the chance to meet reindeer and browse the food and drink offerings.
Singer Jake Nelson Music will then take to the stage at around 4.30pm followed by X Factor and musical theatre star Niki Colwell Evans.
The Grinch and Cindy Lou will also be entertaining attendees throughout the event.
Radio presenter Dicky Dodd will be keeping the crowds in good spirits with exciting games and prizes.
He will then be joined on stage by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Linda Leach to turn the lights on at 6pm - with the help of Santa Claus of course.
How many people are expected to attend?
The event is anticipated to attract thousands, with last year's switch on having seen more than 22,000 people turn out.
Where can attendees park?
The city's car parks will largely be open as usual.
Parking is available nearby including at the Mander Centre multi-storey, on Fold Street, on Summer Row and on Pipers Row.
