What's more is that you can enjoy the peace and tranquility right here in the Black Country and nearby.

We've rounded up a few of the best waterfalls according to visitors, with some extra information on how to find them.

The waterfall at Badger Dingle

Wordsley Waterfall, Stourbridge

There as a bit of speculation as to whether the River Stour waterfall really is a waterfall, but nonetheless it is very pretty. Now is the perfect time to head down to Stourbridge and find it, as many say is beautiful in the autumn.

There aren't many hints online about how to find it, but Google Maps suggest following the tow path along the river from Stourbridge Canoe Club and you'll get there. Just type in Wordsley Waterfall on your map app and follow the directions - or ask other hikers!

Leasowes Park, Halesowen

It's hard to believe that this beautiful, almost Mayan-looking waterfall is in the heart of Halesowen. Take a stroll through the autumn trees and have a look for yourself.

A map to the waterfall can be found here https://foursquare.com

Three Shire Heads, Staffordshire

A stunning spot where adventurers can go wild swimming and hiking. Although it's slightly further afield, it is definitely worth the journey.

Slitting Mill, Cannock Chase

To get to this impressive waterfall, visitors advise parking at the Rugeley Leisure Centre, cutting through a break in the hedge, and heading down the left hand side of the rugby and head down the the left hand side of the rugby field until you meet a gravelled path - the Heritage Trail - which you follow to the left, and walk for about 10-15 minutes until you reach it.

Rising Brook, Cannock Chase

Near the Slitting Mill is Rising Brook, which you can find lots of information about on Lichfield Lore, here https://lichfieldlore.co.uk

Lyde Waterfall, Telford

This walk is for experienced hikers and climbers who can tackle the muddy and busy terrain. There is quite a drop from the waterfall and no steps or safety measurements, so be extra careful when climbing and don't go anywhere slippery or unstable.

The path starts at Loamhole Dingle, the entrance to which is under the old railway bridge and through a brick archway. Follow the path all the way and you'll come across lots of steps and high climbing, and soon the waterfall itself.

Badger Dingle, Shropshire

A wonderful waterfall can be found in Badger Dingle in the Shropshire village of Badger. The area has peaceful woodland, pools, and streams.

Carding Mill Valley, Shropshire

This beautiful waterfall is also a little bit further afield, but is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the region. It starts at Carding Mill Valley in the Long Mynd and takes you on a slightly challenging hike up to the Lightspout Waterfall.
