Little Rotters Mushroom March will take place at the nine acre Kingswood Trust-site on Holyhead Road, in Kingswood, near Codsall.

It comes as the charity, which provides nature and wellbeing activities for vulnerable people, is beginning to reopen some of its services amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Rachel Wells, charity manager at the centre, said: "There will be a guided walk around our site. We will be working with an environmental specialist.

"They will be looking for different types of fungi and learning about the importance of fungi."

It is advised that people book online to attend as the charity is taking part in the national test and trace data system.

Charity staff counted over 27 different fungus species on site on a walk on Wednesday.

An advert for the event said: "Come along for a stroll around our grounds and discover more about the kingdom of mushrooms and toadstools.

"It's Autumn, the leaves are changing above our heads and underneath our feet changes are happening too.

"A secret underground world is revealing itself - mushrooms and toadstools are popping up everywhere.

"Come along and help us to find which species are here at Kingswood Trust and learn more about this important wildlife group.

"After a short introduction, go on a march around our grounds with our fungi expert Sue. This one is not to be missed.

"So we can be Covid-19 safe, places are limited to ensure social distancing."
