Following on from last year's spectacular, it will again be raising funds for Cancer Research UK when it kicks off at 4pm at Claptrap The Venue in Stourbridge High Street.

Buzzard frontman Jimmy Croutear said: "We’re still buzzing from last year’s event, which went so much better than we hoped. It felt natural to want to do it again.

More coverage:

"It’s our way of giving back to our music community. Claptrap were so accommodating it felt right to do it at the same venue again."

A line-up of eight bands will be taking to the stage, including Buzzard. Alongside them will be former The Star Unsigned column act WEAK13, based in Stourbrige, and another hometown act - left For Red - who earlier this year released their second album.

Voodoo Sioux, Guns For Girls, Tyrannosaurus Nebulous, Ed Strong and Big Black Eye will also play.

Croutear added: "We are so thankful to all the bands for being a part of this great gig and cause, each act brings brilliant variety which we know will be very entertaining for the audience."

The event is also notable for other reasons. It will be the first gig for Left For Red in their hometown in many years, and will be debuting their new bassist who replaced the recently-departed Dan Carter. Former Buzzard drummer Justin James will also be performing twice on the live bill with his own new band Ed Strong and later for one final time with WEAK13.

WEAK13 recently tweeted about the line-up change, saying: "On October 19 2019 we'd appreciate it if you can come to @claptrapvenue in Stourbridge; help us see Justin off for his final live show for WEAK13.

"Thanks @JustinJmsClac from Nick [J Townsend] & Wesley [Smith] for being a big part of WEAK13. Have a glorious future."

Croutear continued: "The winds of change are afoot for many talented local musicians this year. The scene connects us all, it’s nice to bring everyone back together and support a good charitable cause.

"It would mean the world to me to see as many people as possible attending and supporting this event."

Tickets for Buzz Fest cost £8 each and can be purchased online or on the door at the event. For more details and to order tickets go to Buzzard's website.
