Willenhall boy thanks Ricky Gervais for casting him in After Life season two
Comedy superstar Ricky Gervais has shared a photo a heart-warming thank you card sent to him by young Black Country actor Thomas Bastable.
Thomas, from Willenhall, rocketed to fame when he starred in the first season of Gervais's dark comedy After Life.
He played school bully Robbie in a few episodes but is most remembered for being called a "tubby little ginger" by Gervais through playground railings.
The black comedy-drama premiered in March this year on Netflix, and has been renewed for a second season.
Now, it has been revealed that Thomas will star in After Life season two – and the youngster sent Gervais a card to say thank you.
It read: "To Ricky, thank you for letting me pop up in season two of After Life. It was really kind of you to keep your promise. I know you didn't have to. From Thomas. A.K.A tubby little ginger."
The Office actor Gervais tweeted out a photo of the card he received to his 13.3 million followers, along with a crying with laughter emoji.
The tweet has already received almost 55,000 likes on Twitter and almost 5,000 retweets.
Fans have called the youngster "a legend" and a "top kid" and have said they cannot wait to see him on their screens again.
