The half term event will take place on May 29 and 30, at the Weston Road Showground.

As well as the usual country pursuits area where visitors can enjoy the sheep show, the quack pack, watch farriers in action, see the giant tortoises and learn more about smaller animals, there will be a host of high-speed, adrenaline-fuelled entertainment.

The Bolddog Lings motorcycle stunt team will take up their place in the main arena again with some aerial stunts.

Last year’s event saw more than 70,000 visitors through the gate. The show, sponsored by South Staffordshire College and South Staffordshire Water, is becoming more widely known and pre event ticket sales are going well.

Richard Williams, chief executive of the Staffordshire and Birmingham Agricultural Society, said everyone involved is working around the clock to guarantee visitors a fabulous day out.

“Shows like these take a lot of planning and we are so lucky to have a great team of staff and so many willing volunteers getting involved,” he said.

“This year’s event will see some top quality action, as well as hundreds of trade stands, excellent food stalls, and top quality agricultural livestock.

“We are so proud that the Staffordshire County Show always delivers a fantastic, enjoyable day out for everyone - young and old. The final preparations are being put in place now to ensure everyone gets as much out of their visit as they can.”

Online and ticket sales from the showground office started on April 1 and outlets throughout Staffordshire will be selling tickets from May 1 - to find out where sells them near you visit the website.

The Staffordshire County Show Facebook page has also been holding a number of online competitions.
