Winter came to the Midlands as Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams dropped into Birmingham City University to talk to media students.
“Talent will take you further than 15 mins of fame," The 21-year-old actress, who plays Arya Stark in the hit HBO show told crowds as she delivered a free talk to School of Media students on Wednesday.
The talk covered everything from Game of Thrones to her dreams, ambitions, and the release of her new social media app, Daisie.
Daisie is a brand new platform that encourages networking and collaboration between creatives. The overall goal is to help newcomers gain exposure for their work while connecting them with others who can provide guidance as they continue their careers.
Maisie spoke about how she got to where she is today – including her early family life, her dreams for the future and how she decided she wanted to go to stage school at the age of 10.
Speaking about the Daisie app, Maisie said: “Before Daisie, success in the creative industries has been wholly dependent on luck and ‘ins’ to the industry.
“Daisie introduces a new way into the creative world, through connections made organically and the natural development of your skills, propelling individuals to the next level.”
She added: "The very fact that I am giving these speeches is so far from anything I thought I would be capable of doing. In a decade, everything in my life has changed.
"I am an Emmy-nominated actress, an entrepreneur, an activist and I have absolutely no formal qualifications to my name.
"My career has been built on a series of opportunities that have evolved into extraordinary life-changing events."
