The unusual toy car has been causing some major traffic through the town's Old Mill Antiques Centre thanks to the vintage children’s favourite.

The 1970s car, driven by Enid Blyton’s toy hero, would have originally been in a shopping centre or supermarket for children to ride in.

“This is a really lovely little model car, just big enough for a small passenger,” said centre owner John Ridgway.

“It would originally have been in a shopping centre, giving rides to Noddy fans.

“It is in nice condition, all ready for a trip with its new owner - and I’m sure Noddy is a safe driver.”

Noddy was created in 1949 and by the 1970s was hugely popular with children everywhere.

As well as the books, the Cosgrove Hall cartoon series began in 1975, in which the titular little toy was voiced by The Good Life's Richard Briers.
