Rain showers failed to put a dampener on the day as acts such as Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics also got the crowd in raptures.

Day one of The Biggest Weekend, presented by BBC Music, saw the star-studded line-up perform to thousands of fans at the city's War Memorial Park.

Other acts playing the main stage were Snow Patrol, Jamie Cullum, and The Selecter.

On stage two, meanwhile, were acts such as Turin Brakes, The Wandering Hearts, and Joe Dolman.

Others to star on the main stage are Nigel Kennedy, Birmingham musician and BBC Young Musician 2018 Lauren Zhang, Strictly Come Dancing with the BBC Concert Orchestra and more.

Stage two saw acts such as Dinosaur, Dorcha and Jon Boden perform.
