Sir Lenny Henry part of Star Wars concert staged at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire
The force will be strong at a West Midlands concert venue next month when an orchestra will play iconic music from Star Wars.
The gig will take place on May 4 at the £57million Royal Birmingham Conservatoire which is run by Birmingham City University.
The date is special to Star Wars fans as that is when the world-renowned franchise is celebrated each year, which is known as Star Wars Day.
Other music will also be played by the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Pops Orchestra including that of Spider Man and Peter and the Wolf.
Sir Lenny Henry, the university's chancellor, will be taking part in the gig where he will narrate the story of Peter and the Wolf, with the musicians backing up the performance with music.
Then they will transport the audience to a 'galaxy far, far away' with music from the original Star Wars film trilogy.
Also the orchestra will perform music from Spider-Man and take concert-goers into the domain of the American Wild West with songs from Hoe-Down and the 1942 ballet Rodeo.
The event will be taking place at 7pm at the Concert Hall, located on 200 Jennens Road, B4 7XR in Birmingham.
Tickets cost £22 for adults and £15 for children and concessions.
