Brierley Hill Civic Hall and Dudley Youth Offending Services join forces
A partnership between a youth offending service and a popular venue has come to fruition.
Leaders from Dudley Youth Offending Service and and the Brierley Hill Civic Hall have joined forces in a bid to see events in the surrounding area better advertised.
General manager of the Brierley Hill Civic Hall James Challis and Manley Gordon from the Dudley Youth Offending Service have worked together to see youth offenders delivering the Civic Hall's 'What's On' events programme.
Mr Challis said: "It's a good partnership, it's been absolutely fantastic and the partnership is ongoing.
"They have delivered 3,000 brochures for us and they just took away another 1,500.
"In the last couple of weeks we have had people aged 57, 67 and 77 that didn't even know that we existed until recently.
"From our point of view we need people to find out about events at the Civic.
"I think the reason where it's beneficial to both parties it gives a task that the service can provide to their youths.
"It's not the thing you want to do for free but it's not a bad thing to have to do, we are providing that for them so it gives them a task they can hand out."
The pair met to symbolise the partnership on Wednesday with plans to see the programme, which is produced every two months, delivered across the Dudley borough in an ongoing joint project.
The Civic Hall will look to sell out tonight as popular television actor and spiritual medium Derek Acorah looks to speak with people beyond the grave.
